A Very Fine Yarn
A Very Fine Yarn is our sensational new tourism development at Creswick Woollen Mills.
We have created an amazing Tourism Interpretive Space focusing on the history of the Woollen Mills, the history of the late founder Paul Ryzowy as well as a world class interpretation of Natural Fibres.
The Creswick Woollen Mills tourism experience 'A Very Fine Yarn' showcases the journey of fibre all the way from its source on the alpaca, through the manufacturing process and how it ends up on the shop shelf. The exhibit gives a great insight into natural fibre, how luxurious fibres are processed and gives visitors a chance to see Australian manufacturing as it happens. Visitors have the chance to meet our resident alpacas and purchase Australian products made right at the Mill.
Free self-guided tours can take place at any time during opening hours, however for groups of ten or more, bookings are essential. Group bookings will have a guide accompany you through the exhibit, and cost $10 per person, redeemable on purchases of $40 or more.
The tour takes up to 40 minutes for self-guided and up to 25 minutes for guided. We recommend following the tour with the farm experience.

How to find us
Creswick Woollen Mills is located in Railway Parade, just off the Clunes road. Whether travelling from Ballarat, Daylesford or Clunes, look for road signage that will direct you to the Mill.
